Chairperson of the African Union Commission

Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has served as Minister of Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs since 2019. She holds degrees in Zoology, Botany, Medicine, and Tropical Child Health. A lifelong activist, she held leadership roles in the ANC and SASO, led South Africa’s Health, Home Affairs, and Foreign Affairs ministries, and became the first woman to chair the African Union Commission in 2012.
